May 4th, 2020.

Last week the provincial government announced that effective May 4th certain businesses would be allowed to re-open under strict safety guidelines.

Marinas may now begin preparations for the recreational boating season by servicing boats and other watercraft, and placing boats in the water, but marinas may not open to the public. Boats and watercraft placed in the water must be secured to a dock in the marina until public access is allowed.

TBYC re-opening will be consistent with the following principles:

1. The safety of club members and employees is paramount.

2. The Club will follow guidance from scientists and medical experts regarding “best practices” for eliminating risks associated with the pandemic.

3. The Club will respect directives/orders (both the letter and spirit) from the federal, provincial and municipal governments.

4. The plan will be flexible in its implementation to accommodate changes that may occur as the situation evolves.

As of Monday May 4th 2020, only TBYC members are allowed on site to begin preparations. Members may engage Contractors under their direct supervision to work on their boats on site.
