This Vessel is ready for blue water cruising! The Downeaster 38 is a stout blue water cruising sailboat. It is solidly built and rigged for cruising. It was designed by Henry Morschladt, a specialist in designing boats for long-distance sailing. Constructed and assembled at Downeaster Yachts Inc. of Santa Ana, California, over three hundred of this model were built. Designed for full time live aboard and cruising, many of features that are considered optional extras on other boats, were included in the design and construction of this model. This vessel spent much of her life on Lake Superior in freshwater.
Below deck the interior arrangement features full standing headroom throughout, 5 permanent sea berths, a functional main salon which is designed for extended cruising with large settees both port and starboard. Spacious head with sink, shower, and composting toilet. The stateroom forward contains a full double berth with a privacy door.
